2013年度雞車王盃 第四站﹣六月雞車王盃﹣雞超組決賽

Dual Identity - Running two jobs in one day.

CKK race 4 was part of a bigger event, which was the annual Shezhen Xtreme Anniversary Race.

The Shezhen Xtreme Anniversary Race is one of the biggest event of the year for the Shezhen Xtreme Kart Club, with club races as well as an invitation race for rental kart races (similar to CKK and HKKU) organizers, including guests that are racers from CKK which sometimes seats are given by our beloved CKK organizer John Wong.

As for my dual identity, I was doing photography work for my other motorsport site Rnewsport.com (coming soon!) duing the morning.  Although it was tiring, and very time critical, it was a fun experience for I am still a beginner at motorsport photography.  All the respect for all the motorsport photographers, it is just as much hard work as or more than racing itself!

With my duties that was taken place before the race, I did not expect a good result for I was already quite tired from my duties.

The actual CKK race took place in the afternoon, after the Shezhen Xtreme Anniversary Race.  The race track was dry and the configuration that day was count clockwise.

The kart that I had was surprising well performed, not a lot of drama for qualify.  Heat 1 and Heat 2 went well as I was 2nd for both Heats.  I was trying to save on tires and engine temperature for Heat 1 which pays a bit for Heat 2, but I was probably pushed it a bit too hard on Heat 2 where the kart did not performed well near the end.

Final race was quite competitive for I was battling for 2nd, the kart, however the kart did not perform very well near the end, but luckly I can keep my 3rd finish.  Unfortunately at the end, stewards have made a decision for a 5 second penalty for the minor hit.  Although I believe that I wasn't the one hitting the person infront, but I guess I was just too tired to dispute the result, so I have settled for the final result for 4th.  That definitely calls for more physical trainning!

I can see that there are still spaces for improvments for me in terms of conservation of tires and engine in which I look forward to improve on my future races!

(CKK Race 5 report coming soon!  Stay tuned to see if I have improved!)
